Margate police officers honoured

The Major General Sethenya Nxamagele handed over certificates as a sign of recognition for the members' hard work, commitment, and dedication.

Ugu District commander Major General Sethenya Nxamagele, recently handed over certificates to Margate SAPS members at Mpenjati.

Margate police spokesperson, Sergeant Sibu Ncane said Nxamagele handed over certificates as a sign of recognition for the members’ hard work, commitment, and dedication.
Ncane added this came after the members ensured that a suspect who incited public violence and was behind an assault case, was overpowered and arrested in 2020 at St Michael’s beach.

“Furthermore, the Margate SAPS Drugs team was also awarded certificates for being number one in the province when it comes to arrests. Nxamagele thanked the members for the impact they make in the community. She also emphasised that the members of the public are relying on us as men and women in blue to live in a safer environment and she thanked the Margate station commander and the entire management,” said Ncane.
