Eagles enjoy cool weather

The next game is on June 6th.

The day was perfect for a game of golf. The weather was cool and overcast with very little wind. We had 52 players in attendance.

After the rain of the past two days, the golf course was in very good condition, thank you to all for the effort made. With two tees being used for the start, the logistics to get to the tenth tee went without a hitch, well done.

Best Lady was Stella Scott on 42 individual points and Chris Coxell took the men’s prize on 43 points. The winners on the day were Les Vince, Chris Coxell, Steve de Klerk and Sarel Swart on an impressive alliance score of 103 points, this was 9 shots ahead of the second placed team, very well done.

The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy was Keith Findlay, Rob Bowman, Barrie Ainslie and Dave Whitfield on 74 points. They received their prize but would not leave their table, hence, the photograph, I just think that they were all very tired after such a long day.
The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Alistair Ayers, great effort. Eddie Mathews presented the results without a hitch, and after a recital of his version of “Fifty shades of Gr@y” he had all of us in stiches, well done chairman.

Longest Day: Keith Findlay, Dave Whitfield, Rob Bowman and Barrie Ainslie.

On the fines side, Jeremy Boyd was the master and this started with a fine for not wearing your Village Eagles golf shirt, for which yours truly was on the list. Let’s all try this year to purchase and wear our club shirt during these events. I noticed that a large group of the members in the photographs were also fine paying members on the day.

Our next game will be held at Scottburgh on June 6 – see you all there.

Winners (from left) Steve De Klerk, Les Vince, Chris Coxell and Sarel Swart.
