Police hosts youth sports day

It was to keep the youth focused to achieving a bright future and to keep away from crime.

The St Faiths SAPS Social Crime Prevention was part of a Sports Against Crime initiative which took place at Mqhakama Sports grounds recently.

The purpose of the day was also to keep the youth focused to achieving a bright future and to keep away from crime.

Ugu District SAPS spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge said the stakeholders who ensured the success of the day were local businesses, the Community Policing Forum, Youth Desk, Department of Health and the Department of Education.

“At least 15 schools participated in the soccer and netball sporting codes. A large crowd of community members were educated on crime in the school environment and community,”said Mpinge.
