One dead, 16 injured in separate crashes

The occupant sustained fatal injuries and died before emergency services arrived.

One person died in an accident involving a light delivery vehicle and a bus on the P200 near Margate. This happened  early in the morning today.

When emergency services arrived, they found that the vehicles were on a head-on collision.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance Services paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that three other patients had sustained serious injuries and were trapped in the vehicle.

Together with rescue service, paramedics stabilised the patients and extricated them from the vehicle using specialised rescue equipment.

The patients were transported to the hospital for further care.

In another accident 13 people were injured in a collision on the N2 near Paddock this afternoon.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service responded when they arrived, they found that a taxi and car had been involved in a collision.

Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that patients had sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor.

The patients were all treated on the scene before being transported to the hospital for further treatment.
