Creston learners study marine species

They enjoyed snorkelling in the snorkel lagoon at uShaka Marine World.

Creston College‘s Grade 11 Life Science learners went on an excursion to the Beach Wood Mangroves in Durban, to learn about different crab species that are found along the coast of KZN, and to learn about their diversity and the ecological roles that they play during incoming and outgoing tides.

The learners then visited uShaka Marine World Educational Centre to listen to lectures about population and classification of all the marine species found in South Africa.

After the lectures they enjoyed snorkelling in the snorkel lagoon at uShaka Marine World, where they could swim along with some of these marine species.

Both these excursions go hand-in-hand with the curriculum, as it entails studying diversity, population, and classification of species in South Africa.
