Three suspects wanted for a cash-in-transit robbery were arrested recently on the South Coast.

Police officers from Rapid Rail Police Unit under Operation Qondisa conducted an intelligence driven operation in the Malangeni (Umzinto) and Mtwalume areas.

“The team was following up on information about a group of men that were committing cash-in-transit robberies in KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape,” said Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo, Saps KZN spokesperson.

When the team proceeded to various homesteads in Malangeni and Mtwalume, they found three suspects aged between 43 and 50, and arrested them.

“One of the suspects was found in possession of explosives.”

These suspects are wanted for a cash-in-transit robbery committed in Mzamba last month.
The suspect found with the explosives is to appear in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court soon.
