Away trip for Margate lady golfers

It's always a popular event, no matter the quality of the golf.

Six Margate Country Club lady golfers enjoyed a trip to Kokstad to play in the annual Cecily McKenzie Cup.

Port Shepstone CC won the tournament with the Margate team placing fifth.

Back home, John Ford won the Saturday competition on 39 points.He was four clear of Allan Halvorsen on 35 points.
Nearest the pins were Kim Howden (8th) and John Ford (16th).

The Wobblers game last Wednesday was won on 83 points by Hans Beilhartz, Dave Hepworth and Brian Jefferys, from John Ford, Nico van Vuuren and Dave Morrison on 79 points.

In third place were Danie Brummer, Bob Weanie and Rod O’Farrell on 76 points.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Frank Merrill, André Henn and Thys Bothma on 68 points.
Two-clubs were recorded by Hans Beilhartz and Dave Morrison.
