OPINION: ‘Increase traffic patrols on secondary roads’

Traffic authorities make their presence known on the roads at this time of year.

DEAR Editor;

Once again the holidays are here. Once again our traffic authorities, make large of their presence on the roadway and their determination to reduce the road carnage that is par for the course for this time of year.

Well I hope they succeed in their quest as many innocents die at the hands of others at this time. How about banning the advertising of alcohol on media as more damage can be caused after consuming six beers than smoking a carton of cigarettes!

Also, how about increasing road patrols on the secondary roads of this country, as here you only have two lanes and no road reserve between them, keeping them apart with room to move in event of danger.
