Two bodies found in Marburg

Police are requesting information regarding the two murders.

The bodies of a man and woman were found in two separate locations in Marburg recently.

The woman was found in bushes by a man picking mangoes in Rosslyn Avenue, Umbango on Tuesday evening last week.

According to the man, he was on the mango tree when he spotted the woman’s body. “I tried to call for help but no one wanted to assist. Eventually a woman suggested I contact Lazer 911 Security, and they alerted the police,” said the man.

Police spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge said a murder case has been opened for investigation. “Initial observations revealed serious injuries to the woman’s upper body, however a post-mortem examination will conclusively establish the cause of death.”

Anyone with information or who may have seen any suspicious vehicle in the area should contact the police on 039 6881005.

In the second, unrelated incident police responded to the scene of a murder on Oscar Borchers Road, Marburg where the body of a man was found. The man had sustained multiple stab wounds. Port Shepstone Detective Service is investigating a murder case and anyone with information can contact them on 039 6881005. The deceased was identified as Bongani Bhengu (28). No arrests have been made.

Police are yet to make an arrest in the murder of Sherille Naidoo whose body was found dumped in bushes in Torwood Crescent, Umbango in June this year. Sherille had been stabbed to death and her body was discovered by a member of the public who alerted Lazer 911 Security. Police said the case is still under investigation and they are following important leads.
