Woman found dead in Bomela home

The woman was described as a very humble and respectful person.

In the middle of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, Sihle Hlophe (38) was found dead at her boyfriend’s home in Bomela.

It is believed she was hit on her head and died recently.

Her sister, Sindi Hlophe, said that the boyfriend had fetched Sihle the day before from their home.

“We expected her to come home on Sunday morning, like she normally does when she has spent a night out. She was meant to go to work on Sunday morning.”

While her family was waiting for her to return, the boyfriend came looking for her. He said they had had a fight the night before and he had left.

“He came looking for her on Sunday morning, I told him to go look for her because she had left with him. Eventually I found out that she did not report for work so I started to look for her myself,” said Sindi.

Sihle Hlophe was found dead at her boyfriend’s house.

Hlophe said when she got to the boyfriend’s house she saw police vans and a lot of people. She was taken to the scene and found her sister, naked and dead.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Sibu Ncane said a neighbour had noticed someone dragging something into an abandoned building.

“Upon investigation, the body of a female was found wrapped in a blanket. Paddock Saps members responded to the scene and arrested a 36 year old man.”

A murder case is being investigated by Paddock Detective Service.

Sihle was described as a very humble and respectful person.
