Kennel club hosts canine tests

The tests were anything but plain sailing as the field was wet and the rain did not give them a break.

Hibiscus Kennel Club hosted the Kusa Canine Good Citizen tests on Saturday, November 26.

According to the club’s director of training, Heather Moorcroft they were fortunate to have Janet Rouillard from the North Coast as their evaluator.

Moorcroft said their tests were anything but plain sailing as the field was wet and the rain did not give them a break.

“I am sure motorists must have questioned our sanity as we stood up on the R102 waiting to cross the road with our dogs which is part of the Silver and Gold tests. Despite all the challenges, we could not be happier as it was a clean sweep of 100% pass rate,” she said.

She added that results were as follows:
Bronze results:
Elsie McKillen with Ben, Christeen McGovern with Ferret and Ash, Ninette Smith with Magic, Janine Badenhorst with Penny, Renate Haussmann with Xia, Squiddy and Enzo, and Elsie Pretorius with Kammi.
Silver results:
