OPINION: What’s real cause of road haulage issues?

Roads need to be upgraded and increased.

Since we have been living here on the South Coast, we have become patently more aware of the problem regarding large horse-and-trailer traffic on the N3.

Transport authorities lay blame for the congestion and frequent accidents on the drivers and employers alone.

Do the authorities not see that the problem is a function of the fact that road traffic has increased manifold, yet the roads have not been upgraded nor have extra roads been constructed to take the extra vehicular traffic?

So, now they push the blame for the resultant congestion etc elsewhere, so they do not get finger-pointed as the real cause.
Freewheeling.
