Track Torque: Verstappen is fastest man in Texas

The circus now moves down the road to Mexico for the Grand Prix there on October 30.

Max Verstappen proved to be a worthy world champion as he blew everyone else off his tracks. The ‘Flying Dutchman’ had an interesting challenge from a much improved Lewis Hamilton near the end of the race. Hamilton finished second, just five seconds adrift.

Charles Leclerc had a good day in his Ferrari coming through quickly from the back of the field, partly aided by the presence of the safety car.
Leclerc drove very well and must be commended for his third place finish, only another seven seconds behind Hamilton.

Just behind in the second Red Bull was Sergio Perez who had also given his best for all of the race.
George Russell in the second Merc was next up in fifth position but some 35 seconds behind Perez.

He had been unlucky at the start to punt Carlos Sainz in his Ferrari off the track in what I think was just a racing incident.
I do however feel very sorry for Sainz who just seems to be not the luckiest man in town, so it was a great shame to lose the challenge that was looming from the second Ferrari.

Lando Norris was next up, followed by a very hard charging Sebastian Vettel.
Both Lando and Sebastian gave us their very best and our monies worth as spectators, into sixth and seventh places.
Kevin Magnussen, Yuki Tsunoda and Esteban Ocon in Haas, Alphatauri and Alpine took up eighth, ninth and 10th spots in close formation.

It was an exciting race at an exciting location and very demanding track. I enjoyed all the cowboy hats and American ballyhoo!
Nothing is bigger than in Texas.
