New municipal manager for Ugu
Dr Ntombela has been with Ugu municipality for over a year.
Ugu District Municipality has appointed Dr Elliot Michael Sibusiso Ntombela as the new municipal manager.
Ntombela has been the acting municipal manager since July 2021, after DD Naidoo was suspended and subsequently resigned.
He took up his new post on October 1 and it will be on a five-year performance based, fixed term contract.
He has core managerial, financial, supply chain and occupational competencies as he has held posts of ‘Accounting Officer,’ at various municipalities, among them Umzinyathi District Municipality and Mtubatuba Municipality.
Ugu spokesperson France Zama said as head of administration, he will be responsible and accountable for functions provided for in the Local Government Systems Act, No.32 of 2000, Municipal Finance Act 56 of 2003 as well as other functions provided for by legislation and delegated by Council.
