POETRY: Loadshedding moves us back in time

Thoughts and feelings on loadshedding.

Despite being such a progressive world
We’re going back to the past
Perhaps even worse
Back then, students would study with paraffin lamps and candle lights
And still could be able to continue with their studies throughout the night

Yet look at us today, the 4th industrial revolution
So technologically advanced
Yet our studies are disrupted
How do paraffin lamps and candles help us when we need to charge our laptops and cellphones?
How do they help us when the internet is down?
How does loadshedding impact us positively when it’s the reason that we’re unable to finish our online exams and assignments?
And load shedding is implemented only when it’s exam time, how is that fair?
Be it a scholar or graduate,

This is every
Student’s agony
