PS Islamic learners show prowess at athletics event

There were various field events for learners.

The final leg of the Port Shepstone Islamic School‘s annual inter-house athletics took place at Marburg Secondary School last Sunday.

The event saw Yasmeen House emerge as winners with Warda House having to settle for second place.

The Foundation Phase had a fun-filled day with their athletics meeting a week earlier.

The field events which included long jump, discus, shot putt and javelin gave learners an opportunity to display their athletic prowess.

Educators and learners are thanked together with the kind sponsors, donors, helpers and spectators for adding to the good cheer of the day.

Raeesa Kalla did the school proud when she clinched third position in the Grade 6 segment of the Association of Muslim Schools Science Fair held in Kenville in Durban on last Saturday.

Talha Musa represented the school at the Association of Muslim Schools Grade 10 Speech Contest held at the Orient Islamic School a fortnight ago.

While he did not come home with the silver, he left the judges and the audience thoroughly impressed by his delivery.
