More murder mayhem in Harding

Additional manpower has been deployed to make sure that there is stability in the area.

It has been yet another week of blood and mayhem in Harding, as another six murders occurred in the town in a matter of a week.

The South Coast Herald last week reported that seven people lost their lives.

The town and its surrounding areas have now become a war zone with murders an almost daily occurrence.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala said Harding Saps detectives are currently investigating six cases of murder, including a double murder.

“No arrests have been made in these cases go far.”

There have also been reports of an ATM machine that was robbed and security guards help up.

The article last week created more awareness around the fear residents are experiencing.

On the Herald’s social media pages, some have said that shootings in Harding have now become ‘our daily bread’.

Others have said that Harding is not a ‘place called home’ anymore and have called for national police intervention.

Yet another said, ‘we are afraid to even go to the shops’.

Another called on government to provide buses for people and to completely stop taxis from using the streets.

Police have said due to the recent numbers of murders, additional manpower has been deployed to ensure that there is stability in the area.
