Get the job done with FAW

A great all rounder in the commercial market.

FAW first established a presence in South Africa in 1994, quickly becoming a local frontrunner in the highly competitive vehicle industry. Its local founder and successful businessman, Richard H. Leiter, recognised the inherent value in the FAW brand as it was based on a unique level of durability and longevity unrivalled by other Asian brands.

The FAW SA brand and its acclaimed products have been in South Africa for more than 25 years, and has firmly entrenched itself in the local transport industry landscape.

From the beginning, the FAW brand has grown from strength to strength, and the Thompson Motor Group in Port Shepstone are pleased to confirm that they are the FAW trucks dealer for all sales, service and parts requirements, supporting and promoting this commercial truck brand on the South Coast.

Richard Thompson, dealer principal said they are proud to be associated with the FAW brand since November 2018 to add to their existing hybrid Thompson Motor Group. “The FAW brand in recent years has been the biggest truck growth brand in the market. There’s been huge success in terms of product developments and improved technology and performance in the FAW brand. The new JK 6 15.22OFL is a recent beauty to hit the floor. The 8 Ton, 4×2 freight carrier has arrived in South Africa with high power and at an attractive price. This commercial vehicle is a top achiever with regards to fuel, spaciousness and an air-conditioned semi sleeper cab.”

The JK 6 is powered with an 8 speed manual synchromesh transmission and full air dual circuit brakes with ABS. The truck delivers 165kw with 770Nm of torque coming from its 6 cylinder in line, water cooled turbo charged and intercooled diesel engine. The truck boasts a very competitive useable payload.

“This vehicle is a great all round contender in the 8 Ton market and carries an attractive price tag. Visit FAW South Coast at 18A Aiken Street, Port Shepstone. Visit the team or call 039 6820113 or 078 1139496 or visit faw@thompsonmotors.co.za.
