Tweni surfing competition is back

Confident junior surfers will then participate in an 'Xpression Session' and all participants will receive a boerie roll.

One of the most prestigious surfing competitions on the South Coast, Tweni2’s, will be taking place on Saturday, June 18.

Funds raised from the competition to be held at Tweni Beach will go towards Ugu Surfers and Tweni Beach Projects, said organisers.

The competition will start with a community project where local surfers are invited to a ‘learn-to-surf’ session led by former World Surf League surfer, Royden Brycen of Southbroom Surf School and local surfer, Andrew Lange on Friday, June 17 at 9am.

Confident junior surfers will then participate in an ‘Xpression Session’ and all participants will receive a boerie roll.

On Saturday, surfers will take to the water competing in pairs. “This year’s line-up boasts big names and the best of our locals and promises to showcase the sport, with radical turns and hopefully some barrels,” said the organisers.
