Nicholls stars for junior Warriors

Quade Nicholls eyes the try line playing for the junior Warriors against Ballito Rugby Club.

The South Coast Warriors U11 Youth team traveled to Durban to play against their Ballito RC counterparts in the Durban junior club league.

The boys are now playing on a full-size field but this didn’t deter them and they played some fantastic rugby, running in five unanswered tries.

Two were scored by Quade Nicholls, with one each by Morgan Mackie, Traugott Albrecht and Ryan Pronk.

The junior Warriors are (back, from left) Zhuan Kellie, Juan Beer, Lubanzi Silolo, Tristan Loots, JP Pretorius, Divan Dixon, Tyler Smit, Tiaan Labuschagne, Marco Janssen and Brett Ralfe; (front) James Sharpe, Morgan Mackie, Mjay du Plessis, Traugott Albrecht, Jayden Koekemoer, Ryan Pronk, Hayden Lewis, Jacob Steynberg and Quade Nicholls.

Quade kicked two conversions. The final score was 29-0.

They were structured, well oiled and brilliant to watch.

They can look forward to competitive games against the likes of Crusaders, Collegians and Westville.

The juniors have practices at Douglas Mitchell Sports Club on Wednesday and Friday evenings, at 17:30.
