Ramsgate Lions spruce up community hall surrounds

South Coast Car Boot and Crafters' Market also trades at the same venue on most Saturdays.

There is a new wave hitting the South Coast, the Tidy Town wave and it hit Ramsgate last week.

With various projects been undertaken to clean the area, one such project was to get the grass cut at the community hall at the Ramsgate Lions Club in Glenmarkie Drive, Ramsgate.

Tidy Town lent its donated ride on lawn mover to Peter Bruigom who cut all areas that was possible with this machine, then Andy Forbes from Clivia Corner, who has already done a lot for Tidy Town Ramsgate, came and brush cut the other areas.

The club thanks Tidy Towns as the Ramsgate community soccer team uses these grounds to practise and were very happy to have a better field to play on.

A Valentine’s market was held last Saturday which saw visitors and locals taking a walk around, browsing and buying while enjoying the music from Hearwave and a cup of tea/coffee or a drink from the Ramsgate Lions Club.

In the club house, Art by the Sea had local artists set up a display for all to appreciate.

Markets for February: 19th – at the Ramsgate Lions club house in Glenmarkie Drive; 26th – at LA Vida Coffee Shop, Doxa Church parking, corner Marine and Lagoon Drive from 0:800 to 13:00.
