Pedestrian dies following collision on Nelson Mandela Drive

The pedestrian was crushed between a car and a tree.

Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to Nelson Mandela Drive this afternoon (January 24) for reports of a collision.

Craig Botha of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service said that when emergency services arrived, they found that a car had lost control and crashed into pedestrians and then into a tree.

Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that two patients in the car had sustained minor injuries while one pedestrian also sustained minor injuries.

“The second pedestrian sustained fatal injuries when the pedestrian was crushed between the car and tree,” said Botha.

Sadly the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries before emergency services arrived on scene.

The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.
