Musician Dilan Lion spreads cheer with song and dance fusion

His latest song is currently doing the rounds on social media.

Song and dance are both art forms that represent true South African culture, and one Marburg resident and Christian musician has taken strides in fusing both to bring cheer during the festive season.

Dilan Lion’s (real name Dilan Jama) latest song titled, ‘Coca-Cola’ is currently doing the rounds on social media, which has inspired people to also part take in the Coca-Cola dance challenge.

Dilan Lion of Marburg is excited for what the future holds as he looks to partner up with Coca-Cola for his latest single.

“The song was written about three years ago, well, parts of it. Over the years, I have started to take the project more seriously. I wrote the song and did everything, not really knowing what would become of it, recording only the chorus and then making a video which was shared a lot, to a point where people knew the song and it wasn’t even fully complete,” Dilan said.

Having attended both Marburg Primary and Secondary, Dilan also works as a police officer at the Port Shepstone Saps, VISPOL, a job he started in 2018.

The song provides a feel good sensation that is inspired by the ever growing “Amapiano” genre.

“I then came up with a plan, and realised I could use the song for maybe a Coca-Cola advert or something, and through my company Rockwill Entertainment, shoot a commercial and do many more projects with the song,” he said.

Dilan Lion invites all South Coast residents to take part in the #CocaChallenge on social media to stand a chance to win great prizes.

The song is available for streaming on Soundcloud, and South Coast residents can join in on the #CocaChallenge by uploading a video of themselves dancing, or simply having a good time to the song on any social media platform.
