IFP gains five wards from ANC in Umzumbe

The IFP has not had any wards in the Ugu district for the past decade and has now come back with full force.

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has gained five wards in Umzumbe Municipality, one ward in Ray Nkonyeni and one ward in Umuziwabantu, according to results released Wednesday afternoon.

The IFP has not had any wards in the Ugu district for the past decade and has now come back with full force.

Spokesperson for the IFP Sfundo Ngwane said voters showed a very exciting direction for the party.

“We do not care who we won against, we are looking forward to serving the communities and giving people a better life.”

“We are going to use these wards to encourage people to vote for us in 2024 as well.”

Ngwane said that their membership numbers were lower than the people who voted for them meaning that even card carrying members of other political parties voted for the IFP.

“This goes to show that people are tired of false promises. People want to see change. We appreciate and are thankful to the communities.”
