The disastrous undertaking
The crowd, howling
Who used to hold great unity
Is now breaking
For those who we trusted
Are those who now betray
Breaking down mighty empires
And fleeing away
The fire imbedded in you
Is the fire that blazes on our streets
Which does us no good
Only to let us weep
Where is our sanity?
Wounding our own kind
An insult to our humanity
Like rivals of a different mind
The potent force shielding our town
The one we rest on,
Please return home safely
For we wait till dawn…
