SOUTH Coast handlers recently headed to Woodlands for the KZNDAA Open Dog Show. It was a great day with the following results:

Grade 3 – Large – 3rd Tara and Ann Shaw. Small – 2nd Sophie and Gail Taylor. Grade 2 – Medium – 1st Mindy and Bernice Smit. Small – 1st Hash and Barbara Egan.
Grade 1 – Medium – 1st Miko and Elsie Pretorius, 3rd Chloe and Sheldene Smit.
Non Contact:
Grade 3 – Large – 3rd Dakota and Kirsten Livingstone. Medium – 2nd Page and Heather Moorcroft. Small – 2nd Shiro and Elsie Pretorius.

Meantime, while the agility people have been running their legs off the breed people worked hard to prepare for the Zululand Kennel Club Open Show held at Ashley sports ground recently. Sue MacNab’s Whitebriar Just Tickle Me (imported from New Zealand), a West Highland white terrier aged just over four months, won best puppy and best of breed. Just Tickle Me then went on to win best terrier puppy on show and finished third in the terrier group.
Michelle Howard and her Chinese crested, Aurispa Sebastian of LaLunablu , won best puppy in breed, best of breed, best puppy in group and second in the toy dog group. He then won reserve best puppy on show under judge Shirley Bloomfield.
Aurispa Dior of LaLunablu, also a Chinese crested, won best junior in breed. Christeen McGovern won champion class with her Australian shepherd Kaleidostar America’s Next Top Model of Solarflare (imported from Hungary) and best of breed, then went on to win the herding group. Chelsey McGovern once again won first in the junior handler class.
