Jack clinches Mug win at Scottburgh

Big hitter Mitch Hampson and Mikhail van Brakel teamed up with Mathew Hall and Decon and were last seen having their photos taken holding up the Stone.

The Village Eagles paid us a visit on Tuesday with 76 players in attendance.

They say they lost 77 balls between them but they must have been hit into places only the most experienced ball finder knows, the course being in such good condition.

Wednesday’s combined Stableford was a low key affair with most players relaxing after the previous days exertions.

England and Scotland joined forces in the guise of John Mills and Willy Creaney and managed 63 points to win by three from playing partners Tony Kennedy and Anton Visage on 60.

No 2-clubs, no hidden holes and Mike Hogan had a ghost for a partner to lift the Stone.

It was monthly medal time on Saturday with a better turn out.

Jack Cubitt, playing good golf, took the A division gross prize with 71 and ever present Barry Kisten’s nett 70 was good enough for the nett prize.

The B division as usual was a hotly contested affair but Wayne Simpson managed a gross 84 to win that prize and Tony Moore took the nett prize on 69.

Thys Swart managed 36 points for the C division first place with Tony Power one adrift on 35.

Wayne’s nett 67 was good enough to take the April medal.

Geoff Thommasen found the hidden holes and John Mills, Thys Swart, Deane Jooste and Tony Moore all rolled in 2-clubs.

Big hitter Mitch Hampson and Mikhail van Brakel teamed up with Mathew Hall and Decon and were last seen having their photos taken holding up the Stone.

Wednesday is a betterball Stableford and again on Saturday but thanks to P&G Construction who will be sponsoring the game.
