20 suspects arrested for business burglary at Izingolweni, following protest action

Twenty suspects aged between 19 and 39 were arrested last night (March 24) for business burglary and possession of  stolen property in Izingolweni.

“Two of the suspects were found in possession of various items of liquor stolen at a business premises,” said provincial police spokesman, Captain Nqobile Gwala.

The suspects will appear in court soon.

“The road is still blocked on the N2 freeway at Izingolweni.  Police are at the scene to monitor and stabilise the situation,” said Captain Gwala.

 Community members took to the streets to protest against the lack of water and other municipal services on Tuesday this week.
