Pregnant woman dies on R61 in Marina Beach

According to Craig Botha of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service, reports from the scene indicated that the woman had been knocked down by a taxi.

A pregnant woman was declared dead on the R61 in Marina Beach yesterday (Wednesday) after being struck by a vehicle.

She died the scene, despite advanced life support intervention.

According to Craig Botha of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service, reports from the scene indicated that the woman had been knocked down by a taxi.

“Paramedics found the patient to be critically injured, and her condition was rapidly deteriorating.

“Resuscitation efforts were started and paramedics worked for almost an hour to revive the patient,” he said.

On Monday this week, emergency services responded to a vehicle which had overturned on the N2 at Bhoboyi.

“Paramedics found one person had been seriously injured. The patient was treated on scene and transported to hospital,” he said.

On the same day, two vehicles collided on the R620 in Uvongo.

“Paramedics found that three occupants had suffered injuries ranging from serious to minor.”

They too were were treated on scene before being transported to hospital.
