Teen (15) dies in Umtentweni crash

A 15-year-old boy died in a horrific crash at the Abingdon Road traffic lights on the R102 in Umtentweni on Monday afternoon this week.

Port Shepstone SAPS have opened a culpable homicide docket to establish the cause of the accident.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge said the drivers of both the white bakkie and grey vehicle involved in the collision were injured, and were taken to hospital.

Two passengers in the bakkie appeared to be uninjured but were also taken to hospital.

Captain Mpinge added that the teenager, who was a passenger in the car, was declared dead at the scene.
