Golden time for Halfway Hyundai’s ‘deal maker’
The dealership achieved the coveted gold award for Dealer of the Year 2019 in the Halfway Hyundai group.
Halfway Hyundai Port Shepstone Dealer Principal Sicelo Nyandeni and his team have achieved the coveted gold award for Dealer of the Year 2019 in the Halfway Hyundai group out of 65 branches countrywide.
Judging was done according to three categories: A – large dealerships, B – medium dealerships, C – small dealerships.
Halfway Hyundai Port Shepstone falls in category B.

Dealerships were judged on sales performance, profit, customer satisfaction, workshop and customer satisfaction. Sicelo felt that what had made Halfway Hyundai stand out was the level of service provided to customers.
He said this had been achieved by working hard to keep staff motivated, especially in difficult times. ”
“We make sure they want to be here. A happy team is a motivated and successful one,” he said. Sicelo’s motto of being a ‘deal maker’ has boded well for the branch from the moment he took on the position of dealer principal in December 2018.
“I have enjoyed taking up the challenge of pushing the business to greater heights,”he said.
Success has come fairly quickly, with the Gold award being judged on the 2019 calendar year. He said the dealership had been revamped to give it a more up-to-date and modern look.
“It’s more customer-friendly and a pleasure to visit.”
Sicelo felt that a change in the work environment had played a key role. “I look after my staff well, create team spirit and as a result everyone looks after one another, thereby creating a happy work environment,” he said.
Looking ahead, he aims to continue with the momentum created so far. “Basically, we have set the bar high and cannot go backwards. We want to make sure we achieve the goals we have set, which will in turn benefit our business as well as our customers.”
On a personal level, he was pleased with the award but realised there was no time to rest on one’s laurels. “I want to be the best deal maker in town, the ‘go to’ dealer for customers,” he said.
To celebrate the award, the dealership has some special offers. “Due to the Covid-19 crisis, we are helping our customers with cash back deals ranging from R15 000 to R100 000 depending on your deal. Because of the current economic conditions we are helping customers to re-finance their existing vehicles at the best possible interest rates.”
