Ché claims 13 awards at Sheppie High

Dillon Brymer and Ché Habib were awarded academic honours for achieving an overall aggregate of 85 percent for their seven best subjects.

Port Shepstone High held its senior awards ceremony last week.

It was a wonderful evening where the achievement of excellence through hard work and dedication in academics and extramural activities was recognised.

Dillon Brymer and Ché Habib were awarded academic honours for achieving an overall aggregate of 85 percent for their seven best subjects.

Dux of the school for 2019 was bestowed upon Ché Habib, who managed to achieve an outstanding 13 different awards on the night.

A number of special awards were handed out: van Deventer Memorial trophy for Four Winds head girl and Four Winds deputy head girl – Luyanda Madikizela and Samukelisiwe Radebe; Oscar Nero trophy for good fellowship – Joyan Jacob; Class of ’79 trophy for cultural contribution to the school – Bulelwa Thabethe; Usher trophy for sportswoman of the year – Tarelle Frost; Gower Jackson trophy for sportsman of the year – Mlungisi Mabaso; Principal’s award for service to the school – Noluthando Dlamini and Ché Habib, and Goodreen Mtshali bursary went to Sinethemba Khumalo.
