Tuning In: Donate some cement to fix a pesky hole

The hole in the road opposite the Pennington Library has become extremely annoying.

FOR those who missed out on the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir in Scottburgh last Sunday, you truly missed out on an afternoon of sheer pleasure. It was so heartwarming to be part of a packed hall of locals.

Tobias Stückelberger (originally from Switzerland) was the second conductor, Peter Fielding took the role of emcee and Bernard Krüger was the artistic director.

Councillor Ed Baptie has, as usual, been doing community service and is sincerely thanked for fixing the toilet at Relton Hall.

And, speaking of community service, the hole in the road opposite the Pennington Library has become extremely annoying.

So much so, that I am personally prepared to sort it out with the help of some volunteers. Councillor Baptie has promised to provide me with the tools and says the hole requires half a bag of cement.

I am now looking for a donor and a volunteer in the Dolphin Drive/Cod Pinkie/Sardine area.

Please would someone donate half a bag of cement and some time as foreman/induna to guide and direct me in filling and sorting out of this large dangerous hole. I would be so grateful.

Don’t forget the Pennington Community Watch’s golf day at Umdoni Park Golf Club, next Sunday, September 22. The format is Better Ball Stableford and entry is R250 per player.

Locals were thrilled to meet (from left) second conductor Tobias Stückelberger, master of ceremonies Peter Fielding and artistic director Bernard Krüger at the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir’s show in Scottburgh last Sunday.

Contact 039 9751615 or email veni@umdonipark.com. Sponsorships of tee boxes and greens is R500 each or prizes (preferably in pairs) will be gratefully received.
