Scottburgh Lion Carol leads the pride

Outgoing president, Priscilla Tedder handed over to incoming president, Carol Mackintosh, who was officially inducted by past council chairman, Lion Denis Meyer.

Scottburgh Lions Club held its 46th charter anniversary and annual induction dinner at the Coffee Lounge in Scottburgh recently.

Outgoing president, Priscilla Tedder handed over to incoming president, Carol Mackintosh, who was officially inducted by past council chairman, Lion Denis Meyer.

Priscilla mentioned while she was grateful for her time in the chair, she was also happy to hand over the responsibility of the office.

Carol said she was ‘nervous, but excited’ to be taking on new projects in a leadership role.

“I hope the club will continue serving the community as well as it has done in the past and I hope to encourage more people to give back to the community.”

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the coveted Lion of the Year award, which this year was shared by Colleen Brown and Malcolm Caine.

Lion Colin Mackintosh was a superb master of ceremonies, ensuring the programme ran smoothly.
