OPINION: ‘Pumula beach road repair is almost compete’

The cost of the repair was in the region of R10 000 which was paid by the Injambili Ski-boat Club and donations from club members.

Dear Editor,

The only access road to Pumula main beach, which has been used by Pumula residents for more than 60 years, was badly damaged by the recent floods.

Hibiscus Coast Municipality was approached to fix the wash-away, but there has been no positive response.

Des Kruger and Willie Fourie of the Injambili Ski Boat Club spearheaded a community project to fix the road.

Thanks go out to Pumula residents and club members who assisted with the provision of materials, earth-moving equipment, tipper trucks, tractors and labour to repair the damage.

More than 50m³ of stone and fill had to be brought in to fill the hole.

The cost of the repair was in the region of R10 000 which was paid by the Injambili Ski-boat Club and donations from club members.

Twenty bags of cement are still needed to complete the repair.

Any donations will be much appreciated. Please contact Des Kruger at 083 651 9548.
