UMDONI Goju Kai Karate Club in Scottburgh entered seven students in the International Federation of Funakoshi Shotokan Karate South Africa’s recent 26th Annual Friendship Tournament.
Twenty-five all-style clubs and 450 karateka took part.

Shihan Pikkas Windell said that the level of competition had been high, and that the students thoroughly enjoyed the well organised event.
Those that took part from Goju Kai were Avant Sook, Aranya Govender, Scarlet Olivier, Janika Naidoo, Brent Willet, Kaylan Govender and Zoe Breet.
Scarlet won gold in kumite (fighting) and bronze in kata as did Zoe, in their respective categories.
