Tuning In: Lack of communication frustrates

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend - in spite of weather which must have been uncomfortable to camp in!

UNDOUBTEDLY, we have all been at the mercy of contractors and, chatting to folk in Amanzimtoti on the weekend, I discovered that my situation is not unique.

As a contractor, surely if you say that you are coming to do the job at a certain time, you make a note?

And then if you can’t arrive you make a call? I am told that in Johannesburg that is the norm. The South Coast? Not at all.

Communication, according to Google the definition is, “the imparting or exchanging of information by speaking, writing, or using some other medium.”

Clearly some people find this a difficult undertaking.

Heinz (surname not known) from the kiosk in Pennington is pleading with dog owners walking/taking dogs to the beach to please keep the dogs on a lead at all times.

There are two impithi breeding pairs, one with a young one, at the kiosk gardens.

Daily, people can be seen walking past with dogs not on leads.

To those responsible owners, thank you. To those irresponsible owners, please change!

Heinz also says he thinks we may have another impithi baby soon – even more reason to keep the dogs on the leads.

I received a copy of the Pennington Recreation Club newsletter.

There is a lot going on at Relton Hall – line dancing, yoga, keep fit, stitch and bitch, Zumba, badminton and the monthly market.

The building is ageing and needs constant maintenance. Is there anyone out there who would like to donate their time?

Back to normal with another public holiday coming up.

Please don’t forget the variety show which is being held at the Italian Club this Saturday night (27th).

It’s a dinner and a show, without a huge distance to travel. Cost is R90 per person. Contact Maz at 083-4565228.
