His brother, Raymond, thinks the death may not be an accident.  “I suspect foul play because the way my brother’s body was found in the stream doesn’t add up,” he said. “His body was inside the culvert and his feet were sticking out. He was also 60 metres from his home. He walked this road every day and night and his jacket, which he was wearing that night, is missing. We would like the police to investigate thoroughly.”

Raymond added that his brother was an honest and loving man. “He was well known in the community and his death is a shock to all who knew him.”

Raymond Thurston brother of Edward looks at where his brother’s body was found last Friday morning.

Police spokesman, Captain Petros Zenzele Mpinge, said Thurston’s body was found in the stream at around 11.30am last Friday.

“He was apparently last seen on Tuesday, but no missing persons inquiry was opened for investigation. Post mortem results are still pending,” he said.
