Police arrested three men involved a hijacking in Thabankulu in the Easter Cape last night.
A 28-year-old taxi driver received a call at 8pm from a man who requested a special ride to Umzimkhulu to attend a funeral today.

“When the driver stopped at the pick up point in Thabankulu he was confronted by three men with fire arms,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
“They tied him up and drove to Harding where they dropped him on the side of the road.”
He was then picked up by a passing motorist and reported it to the Harding police
The minibus was stopped at Bhoboyi and three suspects aged 34, 40 and 41 were arrested – said Lt-Col Wiid.
He said balaclava, gloves, two pistols, ammunition and two magazines were recovered.
Different sets of registration plates were also found in the vehicle.
Lt-Col Wiid praised the members for their outstanding work.
A case of carjacking was opened and will be investigated by Thabankulu police.
