Storms cause havoc in Margate

The tree lies across Canterbury Drive and Poplar Road and is a hazard.

DEAR Editor,-

The havoc caused in and around Margate during the heavy rain and wind between December 10 and 12 was evident all over Margate and surrounding areas.

The attached photos depict some of the worst damage, which was still unattended to as at the long weekend that followed.

Taken in Canterbury Drive leading to Faerie Glen Estate, you can see the telegraph/telephone pole with exposed wires straddling the road and almost entirely blocking the entrance to Faerie Glen.
