Sugarbush gang strikes again

The motorist had his bakkie looted by the men.

A MOTORIST travelling between Murchison and Port Shesptone had his bakkie looted by the notorious Sugarbush gang last Wednesday afternoon at around 2pm.

Brett Hess said that due to the roadworks, vehicles are forced to travel slowly, making them easy targets for criminals to prey on.

He said a group of four men ran past his vehicle with knives, cutting the ropes which were used to tie down safety equipment he was transporting.

Mr Hess said that between R4000 and R5000 worth of boots and overalls were taken..

He urged police, and those in charge of the roadworks, to secure the area. Motorists are also warned to takeprecautions when travelling in the area.
