Volleyball stars honoured

Falcons Volleyball club were crowned league champions for 2016.

PORT Shepstone Volleyball Association (PSVA) hosted its annual banquet at the Marburg Sports Complex last week Friday.

The event was structured as an informal gathering with the emphasis on having fun and spending time with family and friends.

Falcons Volleyball Club were crowned league champions for 2016 with City Boyz VC finishing runners-up.

Knockout trophies and awards were already presented during the course of the year.

President of the (PSVA), IKS Naicker was thrilled that the event was well attended and thanked his executive committee for their assistance during the year.

Surprisingly, the most well represented club on the day was the Paragon Legends Volleyball and Social Club who announced their intention of a return to competitive volleyball in 2017.

This will surely send shivers down the spines of the other affiliated clubs as the Paragon members present were already displaying peak physical fitness as they embark on an intense core strength and skills training regime.

The new season will commence early next year with a division one section, women’s section and a junior section being introduced to revive the sport of volleyball in Port Shepstone.
