Black Friday on the South Coast – and elsewhere!

Local shoppers were not as unruly as those in some other parts of the country!

BLACK Friday – traditionally an American phenomenon celebrated after Thanksgiving – has made its mark in South Africa.

Black Friday has become increasingly popular in South Africa over the past few years, and while most shoppers on the South Coast were relatively restrained in their pursuit of those too-good-to-miss bargains, the same could not be said for shoppers in other areas!

And in case you were wondering, according to Snopes.com, there is no truth to the rumour that Black Friday has its origins in slavery.
