ANOTHER ANC Lower South Coast Region PR councillor for Ray Nkonyeni Municipality has been shot dead.
Thembinkosi Zoleka popularly known as ‘Commando’ was gunned down at his home in Philips Road, at Margate Ext 3 last night (Thursday) while he slept.
According to Netcare 911 reports, paramedics found him dead in bed.
Zoleka was an ANC Regional Executive Member, known to be vocal on the political front and was killed barely three months after being instated as a councillor.
ANCYL regional secretary, Nkazimulo Mavundla has said his tragic death is a great loss to the movement.
“He was a revolutionary leader and a teacher who was still advancing the national democratic revolution”.
The Youth League has also sent condolences to his family and colleagues.
The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage.
The Herald is still awaiting comment from the police.
