Editor's note

All set for matric exams

It's crunch time for matrics.

MORE than 800 000 Grade 12 pupils started writing their final year examinations yesterday (Wednesday) and their last paper will be on November 29.

The KwaZulu-Natal Education Department said it had put in place a number of interventions and had high hopes for good results.

There had been both summer and winter camps to ensure pupils had more time to revise.

Last year the province was the third-worst performer with a 60 percent pass rate.

We hope there are no disruptions so that the matrics can stay focused and be able to write in a peaceful environment because after 12 years of hard work it comes down to these important exams.

The class of 2016 is wished the best of luck.
