Bowling club celebrates Oktoberfest

The oompah music together with disco and rock-inspired tunes was thoroughly enjoyed.

MARGATE BC

OKTOBERFEST, the world’s largest beer festival, is held annually in Munich, Germany. The folk festival has given its name to similar festivals worldwide and on the local front several South Coasters attended the Oktoberfest at the Margate Bowling Club last Saturday.

Among the many attractions, the ‘liquid gold’ was probably the most important thing at the event. Renowned musician Jack Herzfield of Gauteng provided popular folk and oompah music that Germany is famous for.

Many offered toasts to contentment, congeniality and relaxation.
