Multiple injuries in Hibberdene bus accident
There have been a number of vehicle accidents in the past 24 hours, one involving a duiker.
TWO cars crashed into a stationary bus on the R102, Hibberdene last night (Wednesday) leaving numerous people injured.
Glen Preston, spokesman for Medevac, said that 11 people were injured in the accident. “Two people were seriously injured, three suffered moderate injuries while the rest were minor cases,” he said.
It appears that all the vehicles were travelling south when the incident occurred.
That’s according to Belinda Catchpole, spokesman for Kwazulu Private Ambulance, who said that emergency services were called to the scene to assist.
All the patients were transported to various hospitals.
According to onlookers, a light motor vehicle crashed into a bus, and while the commuters were climbing off to view the accident another vehicle rear-ended the bus.
This morning (Thursday) a car was rear-ended by a minibus on the R61 in Southbroom.
Mrs Catchpole said no serious injuries were reported.
“Witnesses at the scene said that traffic came to a standstill due to a duiker running around on the main road,” she said.
