Update: Conflicting reports on Tweni rape accused’s mental health
Two psychiatrists offered two different opinions.
THE Umtentweni businessman who is facing six charges, ranging from rape and the possession and making of child pornography to the grooming of a child for pornography, appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court again yesterday (Wednesday).
There it emerged that there were two reports issued by psychiatrists on the man’s mental state, but that these offered conflicting opinions.
The case has been transferred to the Port Shepstone Regional Court where it will be determined if he is fit to stand trial.
He is expected to make his next court appearance early next week.
In March this year, the man slit his wrists with a tiny blade in front of the magistrate and court staff.
