South Coast handlers can be proud

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day with good courses set by judges Marissa Botes and Renate Hausmann.

SOUTH Coast Dogs took part in the recent Durban and Districts’ Kennel Club Open Show at Ashley Sports Field in Pinetown and handlers can be very proud of the results.

Michelle Howard and her Chinese crested dogs had a busy day running between the agility and breed classes. Michelle walked off with a first place for MinnaMoo and a second place for Sebastian in agility.

Gaby Frey and poodle Kylie have been performing extremely well and came home with two first places and one second. Kristen Livingstone achieved

two first places with Belgian shepherd Phoenix and a second with border collie Kai.

Mom and daughter Bernice and Sheldene Smit and their Shetland sheepdogs had a good day. Sheldene and Chloe scooped two first places and Bernice got one first and two second places with Mindy. Gail Taylor came first with Kay Sargent’s little dog, Spice.

Ninette Smith and her team of dogs came home with a first and third place for border collie Sparkle, a first place for toy poodle Swish, and a second place for border collie Glitz.

Elsie Pretorius came second with Shiro and third with Miko (both poodles). Karen Salhus achieved a well-deserved second place in dog jumping with schipperke Cajun.

All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day with good courses set by judges Marissa Botes and Renate Hausmann. All members now look forward to and are training hard for the next show on March 6.
