Important: Water restrictions imposed for Ugu District

Those who fail to comply with the municipality's water restrictions will be fined.

RESIDENTS who fail to comply with Ugu District Municipality’s water restrictions will face fines of up to R4000.

The restrictions apply with immediate effect and include the following:

1. The use of manual and/or automatic sprinkler or irrigation systems is forbidden.

2. Allowing taps and showers to run unattended, as well as leaking cisterns and taps, will be regarded as an offence.

3. The use of fire hydrants and fire hoses for any purposes other than fire fighting is forbidden.

4. Car wash services to use buckets only and no high pressure systems.

5. Filling of swimming pools is forbidden.

These restrictions will remain in force until further notice.
